Gründungszuschuss

The Gründungszuschuss, commonly referred to as the startup grant, is designed to facilitate the transition from unemployment to self-employment. It serves as a substitute for Unemployment Benefit I (ALG I) and provides social security during the critical initial phase of starting a new business.

Key Features of the Gründungszuschuss:

  • Initial Support: The grant is initially provided for 6 months to help secure your livelihood as you establish your business.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must have a remaining entitlement to at least 150 days of Unemployment Benefit I (ALG I).

  • Commitment: The planned self-employment should occupy at least 15 hours per week.

  • Proof of Capability: Applicants must demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge for their business venture, which can be supported by subsidized startup coaching.

  • Expert Validation: A certified expert must validate the viability of your business plan. Our service is certified to issue such viability certifications.
